Welcome to Sarah's Art

Memories of a Day.

Working outside whenever possible, freely, intuitively and with little or no drawing.

Inspired by the sea, woodlands, fields and moors all just waiting to be discovered. Using the natural flow of paint, which is thrown in a controlled movement, with different amounts of water. It flows in its varying consistencies, loosely around the canvas, wonderful shapes are born and I excitedly watch, as rolling skies and tidal plains develop in translucent layers before my eyes.

Free from the constraints of painting with a tool directly onto the canvas, this technique encourages the eye to look and look again. Each time seeing new forms within the clouds and shores you think you've seen before.

I hope to evoke a feeling of space, peace and freedom, a desire to keep looking and maybe to conjure up the memories of a day.

There is never an obligation to purchase the painting once completed, as it has to be totally right for you and everything you hoped it would be. I want my art to make you feel something. Take it home and hang it on the wall, just see how it looks and makes you feel and only if you love it should you buy it.

Should you wish to talk about a painting or discuss a commission please call me. (07810 833617)

Original artworks can be viewed at Le Parisien Restaurant in Henley-on-Thames, Artifax Gallery in Newbury, Little Van Gogh and The Blue Duck Gallery in Caversham.

Hoping you enjoy my galleries,
